This morning our three vehicles were the first ones to leave camp and headed towards Oamaru to empty and fill up all tanks before spending several hours in this victorian town. There were beautiful old buildings made of Oamaru stone everywhere.

A lot of the shop workers can be found walking around in period dress.

You can just make out Lanes Emulsion which we remember from our younger days.
By then it was time to get on the road again as we all wanted to call in and see the Moeraki Boulders which are also part of the vanished world we visited yesterday. Concretions formed over 60 million years ago from the bottom of the sea.

After a walk along the beach to get close to them it was time to head south to Palmerston for one night before heading for Dunedin tomorrow.
